Dubai’s most influential art fair returns in spectacular fashion.

Art Dubai 2026 marks its 20th anniversary from 14th to 17th May 2026 against the backdrop of Madinat Jumeirah’s waterways and lantern-lit courtyards. Following the postponement of its original April edition, this special showcase arrives with renewed energy. It will present a curated programme of exhibitions, installations, performances and cultural conversations that reaffirm Dubai’s status as a global arts capital – an important statement amid the prevailing geopolitical situation.

In a first for Art Dubai, entry is completely free, making this milestone edition more accessible than ever. An invitation-only preview takes place on 14th May, while public access runs from 15th to 17th May.

Art Dubai 2026 Theme

This year’s curatorial framework, “Things We Do Together,” reflects the fair’s commitment to collaboration, dialogue and cultural exchange. Visitors can experience commercial galleries, institutional exhibitions, architectural interventions, live performances and much more.

More than 60% of participating galleries originate from the region, reinforcing Art Dubai’s role as a platform championing Middle Eastern, African and Asian voices, while welcoming leading international names from Paris, Mexico City, London and beyond.

Standout Artists and Installations

Among the edition’s most anticipated highlights is Emirati artist Khalid Al Banna’s monumental installation The Path, a geometric sculptural work exploring the U.A.E.’s evolving urban identity.

Equally immersive is Hashel Al Lamki’s Maat, presented with Tabari Artspace. Crafted using reclaimed bridal and burial textiles, the suspended installation merges artisanal collaborations from Mallorca, Kerala and Cairo into a poetic meditation on memory and materiality.

At the heart of the fair, Emirati brothers Ahmed and Rashid bin Shabib unveil the Manameh Pavilion, developed with Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and inspired by the Gulf’s architectural traditions.

Galleries, Performances and Cultural Conversations

This year’s gallery line-up blends regional heavyweights with global newcomers, including ATHR, Meem Gallery, Galerie Frank Elbaz and Pinksummer.

Institutional collaborations also take centre stage. Barjeel Art Foundation presents Pulse, while the Dubai Collection showcases works drawn from over 20 private collections.

Beyond the exhibitions, visitors can also attend the Global Art Forum 2026, live performances curated with Sharjah Art Foundation and thought-provoking talks exploring media, collecting and Dubai’s cultural future.

Why Art Dubai 2026 Matters

Since launching in 2007 with just a handful of galleries in the city, Art Dubai has become a cornerstone of the city’s creative ecosystem. Today, with more than 40 galleries operating across Dubai, the fair’s influence extends far beyond a four-day event.

Art Dubai 2026 is not simply an anniversary celebration. Now more than ever before, it is a statement of resilience, ambition and the enduring power of culture.
