Fine and Rare Wines & Spirits Until 27th January, New York (online)
Leading this highly anticipated online auction is an extraordinary Screaming Eagle range, as well as classic Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhône wines, and Napa Valley offerings. The sale also marks the return of Christie’s to the spirits market with items from major Scottish distilleries, multiple Bourbon lots and rare Cognac.
Rétromobile
Paris 29th January, Paris
Taking place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, this auction will mark Gooding Christie’s first European sale as the official auction house of Rétromobile during the 50th edition of the famed automotive event. On show here are classic, concept and highly coveted models from such celebrated car brands as Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce.
Antiquities
3rd February, New York
This highly awaited sale at Christie’s Rockefeller Center galleries in New York will feature diverse objects from across the ancient Mediterranean world; namely, Greece, Rome, Egypt and near Eastern cultures. Included here are magnificent Roman porphyry columns from the 2nd century CE, a marble statue of Narcissus, items from Mesopotamia and Assyria, rare jewellery and seals.
Old Master and British Drawings
5th February, New York
Led by a newly discovered Michelangelo study for the Sistine Chapel, this auction will feature works from the 16th to 20th centuries that draw from the Italian, French and British schools. Highlights include a rare drawing by William Blake, impressive pieces by Gustave Doré and more.
Contemporary Edition: London
17th to 31st March, London
Covering sought-after editions by established artists and emerging talents from the late 20th century to now, this auction is renowned for its strong and record results. Previous artists on display have included Banksy, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, David Hockney and Yayoi Kusama.
